Swimming Pool Accessories Info
69Summer has arrived, and with it, the start of another swimming season.
Do you have a swimming pool or are you thinking of purchasing one? If
so, you will begin to accumulate swimming pool accessories. What kind
of accessories are there for swimming pools? There are both necessary
and unnecessary accessories, but as an owner of a swimming pool, you
will likely have a good stash of both.
Necessary Swimming Pool Accessories:
When you decide to have a swimming pool installed at your home, you
will then need to purchase many facets to care for the pool. Since you
will surely want a clean pool the entire season, a vacuum and skimmer
will be the first two items on the list. Vacuums can be both hand-vacs
requiring manual labor and self-cleaning vacs which sit on the floor of
the pool and move about themselves. The latter is obviously more
expensive, but if you have trouble with a tall vacuum or don't have the
time and energy to devote to the job, the self-cleaning vacuum may be
just the thing. (Not to mention that you can usually buy self-cleaning
vacuums in interesting designs, such as in the form of a frog or pig!)
Skimmers are an important accessory as well for cleaning out any
leaves, sticks, bugs, or other debris that fall in the pool. Cheap,
short skimmers are easily found, but are often not has sturdy and only
work well for smaller pools. If you have a large pool and will need an
extended reach, you can purchase skimmers with long, extendible polls
to help in the skimming process. These skimmers, however, are often
quite heavy, so consider this before making your decision. Other
accessories will likely include some sort of removable ladder, chlorine
tablets, and Ph level testing strips.
Fun Swimming Pool Accessories:
Swimming pools are to be a place of fun and refreshment, and most accessories are geared more towards this idea. Entire stores are devoted to swimming pools and the fun, unusual, and creative knick-knacks there are to go along with them. If you have kids who will frequent the pool, consider all of the kid-friendly accessories. There are goggles, nose plugs, diving masks, snorkels, and flippers. Everyone likes to play games in the pool as well. You can find pool nets for volleyball, beach balls, soaker balls, diving games ring toss, water guns, and floaty animals and boats, among other things. For swimmers who need a little assistance, accessories range from blow-up arm floaties to inflatable life-vests. Sometimes swimming is supposed to be only a leisurely activity, and older swimmers often like to lounge in the pool and sunbathe. With this idea in mind, you can find all sorts of floating loungers for the pool. They may be a simple rectangle or may be fancy with head-rests, cup holders, or even water guns attached! Inner tubes, body boards, and pool noodles are quite popular accessories as well for floating around and playing other games.

Other Swimming Pool Accessories:
There are some final thoughts on pool accessories which everyone should
consider. Though it may seem obvious, you cannot have a successful
swimming venture without towels ready, sunscreen to keep away burns,
and refreshing drinks ensuring no swimmer gets dehydrated. Perhaps you
may have a well-stocked towel rack by the side of the pool and a deck
set of table and chairs laden with fruit punch, water, and snacks. A
speaker set is great for music during swim-time, and pool-side loungers
are quite popular for sun-bathing, drying off, relaxing, or reading a
good book.
Now your swimming pool is ready for the season!
